Rivier announces transfer pathways for Anna Maria students

NASHUA – With Anna Maria College set to close at the end of the 2026 spring semester, Rivier University is welcoming those students with dedicated transfer support.

Rivier has established a transfer pathway to help Anna Maria students continue their education with minimal disruption. Students in good standing are eligible for guaranteed admission to Rivier and will receive personalized transfer credit evaluations. Undergraduate students may transfer up to 90 credits toward completion of a 120-credit bachelor’s degree, and graduate students may transfer up to 75 percent of coursework needed to complete the degree.

“Rivier is ready to support Anna Maria students as they consider the next step in their academic journey,” said Rivier President Sister Paula Marie Buley, IHM. “We understand that this is a difficult and unexpected transition for students and families. Our admissions, financial aid, academic advising and career services teams are prepared to help students transfer their credits, identify the right academic pathway and continue progress toward their degrees.”

To assist Anna Maria students, Rivier is offering a one-time $3,000 transition grant for students who enroll for the 2026 fall semester. This grant is offered in addition to Rivier’s transfer merit scholarships of up to $19,000. Rivier is also waiving application fees, including the Common Application and does not require standardized test scores for admission to any major, including nursing.

Students who apply will receive an on-the-spot admission decision and individualized guidance throughout the enrollment process.

“Our priority is to give Anna Maria students a dependable path to continue their education without losing momentum,” says Richard Mott, Rivier’s vice president of Enrollment Management. “Through generous transfer scholarships, a dedicated transition grant and individualized credit evaluations, Rivier is helping students make informed decisions about their future.”

Anna Maria students will find strong alignment with Rivier’s academic offerings, including programs in Artificial Intelligence, Business Management, Criminal Justice, Cybersecurity Management, Education, Finance, Forensic Science, Health Science, Human Services, Marketing, Nursing, Psychology, and more. Rivier also offers 34 graduate degree programs, including Applied Artificial Intelligence, MBA programs, graduate counseling programs in Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling and more.

Rivier’s three-year, 90-credit applied Bachelor’s degrees in Artificial Intelligence, Business Management, Criminal Justice, and Elementary Education provide additional options for students seeking to save one full year of tuition, room, board and related expenses while entering the workforce faster. The university also offers 3+1 pathways that allow students to earn a Master’s degree in one additional year.

Anna Maria students who transfer to Rivier will join a vibrant campus community with access to the university’s Science and Innovation Center, state-of-the-art nursing simulation labs, advanced business and security studies facilities, expanded athletics facilities, guaranteed housing, personal academic and career advising, and Rivier’s innovative Employment Promise Program.

Rivier sponsors 13 NCAA Division III varsity programs, including baseball, field hockey, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s ice hockey, men’s and women’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s volleyball and softball. The university competes in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference and the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference for ice hockey.

Rivier’s undergraduate and graduate admissions counselors are available to meet with Anna Maria students in person, by phone or virtually. Students are encouraged to arrange a personal visit, schedule a campus tour, request additional information and apply to Rivier. For more information, visit rivier.edu/amc.
