MERRIMACK – A review of the patriotic enterprise that was the expression of pride heralded by thousands on July 4, 2026, the day of the Merrimack USA 250 Independence Day Festivities, a series of related events celebrating America’s 250 years of freedom, is documented here by Matt Casparius, Director of Merrimack Parks & Recreation.
He shares that the Merrimack 250th Celebrations Committee was proud to present this year’s Annual 4th of July Parade and Fireworks Celebration, commemorating our nation’s Independence Day, while helping to kick off the community’s America 250 festivities.
This year’s parade made history as the largest ever presented in Merrimack, he said.
An impressive 91 parade units entertained thousands of spectators lining a new parade route, a promenade from O’Gara Drive near the high school to The Commons Shopping Plaza on Daniel Webster Highway.
Following the parade, the Committee’s months of planning and preparation culminated in a spectacular fireworks display at 220 Daniel Webster Highway — Kollsman Athletic Fields.

Casparius added that an estimated 10,000 spectators gathered there to enjoy the fireworks show up close. Music from local producer DJ Darren Roy filled the air. Food truck fare and refreshments fortified the crowd. Lawn chairs and blankets for seating added comfort.
Thousands more families, friends and visitors watched from the parking areas at the elevated property of the nearby Merrimack Premium Outlets. The experts providing the sky show were technicians from Pyrotecnico, a Live Events company based in New Castle, Del.
Casparius commented that the Committee reported that one of the event’s biggest successes was the efficient departure of attendees following the fireworks.
Thanks to extensive traffic planning and the coordinated efforts of the Merrimack Police Department, Merrimack Fire Rescue, the Merrimack Department of Public Works, plus event staff and volunteers, Casparius notes the new event site at the field was cleared in less than 35 minutes.
Previously, the pyrotechnics were traditionally hosted at Merrimack High School. Attendees took up to two hours to exit the parking lots. This dramatic improvement significantly enhanced the overall experience for spectators and demonstrated the success of the new venue and traffic management plan, said Casparius.

Other words are shared here from one of the thousands of representatives of Merrimack fireworks show attendees — the Messier and Renaud families.
“Merrimack families enjoyed a wonderful display of fireworks celebrating the 4th of July and America’s 250th birthday,” said Amye Renaud.
“The fun event was well represented, including by those from the Messier and Renaud families.”
