State Police make 70 arrests over July 4 weekend
CONCORD – From July 3-5, State Police took 70 individuals into custody for dangerous driving and boating behaviors.
Within the total number of arrests, 17 individuals were suspected of operating under the influence. During the two-day period, troopers conducted nearly 1,600 traffic stops, resulting in 659 speed citations and 59 citations for distracted driving. There were also 3,403 calls for service.
In addition, Marine Patrol officers stopped 163 boats, including 19 hazardous/reckless boaters. Officers responded to 10 boating-related crashes and made five arrests, four of which were for boating under the influence.
