The following local students have been awarded National Merit Scholarships valued between $500 and $2,000 per annum.

Theodore Bond of Bedford, a graduate of Bishop Guertin High School, will be attending the University of Alabama to study biochemistry.

Matthias Olsen of Hollis, a graduate of the Academy for Science and Design, will be attending the Rochester Institute of Technology to study computer science.
