Community gets involved in sewing project for Gold Award

MERRIMACK – Christie Roy, 15, of Merrimack is working toward her Gold Award in Girl Scouts. Roy is an ambassador rank Girl Scout in Troop 22628.

The Gold Award requires creating a project in which the community becomes involved in a community service project. She is calling her project: “Project Monkey Shine. The project is to create stuffed animals and donate them to local hospitals: Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua, and CHaD in Manchester.

Roy is holding workshops in the following locations throughout the summer for people of all ages: Merrimack Senior Citizen Club, Hunt Community, Huntington Community, Arbors of Bedford, St. John Neumann Catholic Community and Merrimack Public Library.
