Quimby earns Eagle Scout

MERRIMACK – Brian Quimby, of Merrimack, recently celebrated his Eagle Court of Honor at Mastricola Middle School with a longtime scouting friend Jacob Trepanier. Quimby began his scouting career at 6 years old, when he joined Tiger Cub in Pack.

Quimby ran two trips that helped to define his Scouting career and offered him leadership skills. The first was his Medieval Weekend, where he hosted other Webelos Dens in a recruitment event. The second was the Sawyer Pond Hike, where Scouts climbed to the saddle between Mt. Tremont and Owl’s Cliff.

While Brian was a member of the troop, he held many leadership positions. He served as quartermaster, chaplain’s aide, den chief, assistant patrol leader and assistant senior patrol leader.

For his Eagle Scout project, Quimby chose to build a science garden at Mastricola Middle School. With Mr. Trepanier as his advisor and Mr. Sween’s fundraising advice, Quimby was able to complete his leadership project and give all of the $1,500 that had been budgeted for his project back to the PTA.

Brian graduated from Bishop Guertin High School in June and will attend Endicott College in Beverly, Mass., majoring in sports management.
