MERRIMACK – Runners and walkers are invited to join the Merrimack Firefighters 5K on Oct. 8. The run starts at 9:30 a.m., ending on the Merrimack High School track. The first 150 runners will receive a stylish Merrimack Firefighters 5K T-shirt. The fastest male and female will get a free pair of Saucony Shoes, thanks to Saucony and Runner’s Alley of Manchester. The fastest three emergency services runners will win a pair of ESS safety glasses. The fastest age group winners will get the Merrimack Firefighters 5K pint glasses.

Organizers wish to thank volunteers who have gathered quite a group of prizes for runners. Post race raffle include many great gifts: a tailgating gift basket courtesy of Frank’s Place; a wash and cut from TriStar Hair; ESS T-shirts and hats and 3 C Race Productions.

There will also be gift certificates from the following restaurants and stores: Runner’s Alley, DW Pizza, Outback Steakhouse, 99 Restaurant, Applebee’s, Famous Dave’s BBQ, TGI Friday’s, LongHorn Steakhouse, Common Man, Nashua Harley Davidson and Shaw’s.

Post race snacks of bread products will provided courtesy of Panera Bread and water from Homestead restaurant and Lowe’s of Amherst.
