Merrimack girl in ‘Sound of Music’

NASHUA – The Actorsingers will open its 57th main stage season with Rodgers and Hammerstein’s classic “The Sound of Music” from Nov. 11-13 at the Edmund M. Keefe Auditorium.

Sammy O’Neil, of Merrimack, will play Brigitta; Bailie de Lacy, of Hollis, plays Leisel; Maddie Kuchta, of Hollis, is Louisa; Cayden Plummer, of Brookline, is Kurt; Erik Duchesne, a Hollis/Brookline High School graduate, plays Captain von Trapp; Ann Siglin, of Hollis, is a nun; and Sullen Davidson, of Hollis, will play in the orchestra.

The cast also includes Actorsingers newcomer Sarah Reese Souter, of Bedford, as Maria; Ben Gorelick and Kelly Frasca, of Nashua; and Caitlin Hilterman, of Tyngsborough, Mass.

The Actosingers is considered to be one of the premier musical theater companies in the state, winning the NH Theatre Award for “Best Community Theatre Musical” for five out of the nine years the award has been presented.

The Actorsingers’ cast and orchestra will bring to life the music that has made the “Sound of Music” a timeless classic. The show is directed by Joe Vago, of Londonderry, who has more than 20 years of experience in theater. The husband-and-wife team of Jed and Martha Holland, of Nashua, are the music director and choreographer.

Shows will be at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 11-12; and 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, at the Keefe Auditorium, 117 Elm St., Nashua.
