School collects pennies to help ill

Reeds Ferry School will participate in its 12th annual Pennies for Patients community service project for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Massachusetts, from Feb. 1-24.

This agency benefits patients in New Hampshire, Maine and Massachusetts by supporting research for blood related cancers and patient service programs such as patient financial aid, education and family support groups.

For three weeks, students and staff donate their spare change as a community project to support the character traits of Respect, responsibility and caring that we encourage every day through our actions and curriculum.

Anyone wishing to participate in this worthwhile cause is encouraged to donate their spare change to a Reeds Ferry School student or drop their change in the bottle located outside the school office. For more information about this community service project, contact Karen Bennett at 424-6215 or karen.bennett@merrimack.k12.nh.us.
