Merrimack author launches third ‘Deep Fried’ mystery

Local author Linda Reilly will launch the third book in her Deep Fried mystery series from 3-5 p.m., at the Toadstool Bookshop in Milford on Saturday, May 20.

“A Frying Shame” features protagonist Talia Marby, a commercial broker turned fry cook, in this sequel to “Fillet of Murder” and “Out of the Dying Pan.” When Talia enters her mini deep-fried apple pies in a contest sponsored by a national conglomerate, she finds herself embroiled in yet another murder. And if she doesn’t figure out who the real killer is, an innocent cook is going to end up honing her culinary skills at the women’s correctional institution!

Reilly has been writing since 1995, when Woman’s World Magazine accepted her first mini-mystery for publication. Many more mini-mysteries followed, but she always wanted to write and publish a full-length mystery. She got that chance in 2011, when Five Star Publishing accepted her first cozy mystery, “Some Enchanted Murder,” for publication. Her Deep Fried series (Penguin Random House) is set in the Berkshires, in a locale reminiscent of the area where she was raised. Reilly will also be launching a new series in December 2017. Kensington’s Lyrical Press will publish the first installment in the Cat Lady mysteries, a cozy series set in the fictional town of Whisker Jog, N.H.

Reilly lives with her husband in Merrimack. Retired from her job as a title insurance underwriter, she now writes mysteries full time. Read more about her and her books at lindasreilly.com.
