Merrimack hotel staff raise money for health care facility

WILTON – The employees at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Merrimack, a Roedel Companies property, have a good reason for dressing down each Friday and it has nothing to do with going casual.

The staff runs an annual Dress Down Fridays campaign to raise money for different charities. This campaign raised $1,200 for Home Health & Hospice Care (HHHC) and reflects a core value of Roedel Companies to invest in the communities they serve.

“We had a guest stay with us who was visiting family at the HHHC Community Hospice House here in Merrimack and they had such wonderful things to say about the people there,” said HIEX Merrimack General Manager John Rogers. “We look to donate to a different organization each year and this was a great choice.”

Employees donate $1 each Friday to dress down in jeans and a HIEX T-shirt. Roedel Companies, which owns the hotel, matched the total raised by the employees. The staff presented the check to Paula Telage, director of corporate giving at HHHC.

“This will go so far in our community to help those who need us during such a difficult time in their lives,” Telage said. “This is a fantastic example of how we can all take care of each other in this community.”

The campaign has benefited the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth Hitchcock (CHaD) and the Merrimack Chamber Scholarship Fund in past years.
