Manchester man charged with overdose death of Merrimack woman

MERRIMACK — Edwin Jimenez-Gomez, 22, of Manchester, was taken into custody on Sept. 3 in connection with the death of Merrimack resident Isabella Spain in October of last year.

According to the Merrimack Police Department, Jimenez-Gomez sold Spain a lethal dose of fentanyl. On Oct. 31, 2024, first responders were dispatched to Spain’s residence. Despite efforts to resuscitate her, Spain, who was 20 years old at the time, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jimenez-Gomez was held on preventative detention and has been charged with the sale of a controlled drug resulting in death.

Under state law, if convicted, he could face up to 15 years in prison, up to five years of probation at a fine of up to $4,000.
