Donald Robert Ross

Donald Robert Ross, 71, of Circleville, Ohio and Bedford, NH passed away on May 5th at his Ohio home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born July 10, 1945 in Waterville, Maine and attended high school in Westminster, MA.

After graduating in 1963, He enlisted in the United States Air Force and served in Vietnam. Don joined Digital Equipment Corporation in 1968, and subsequently worked for Compaq and Hewlett-Packard, retiring in 2011 after 42 years of service.

He is preceded in death by his parents Robert A. Ross and Nena (Sharp) Ross.

Don is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary Ellen (Barnaby), daughters Katherine M. Ross of Circleville, OH, Heather A. Fondriest of Bay Village, OH, and Jennifer L (Kevin) Faherty of Nashua, NH. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Sophia Fondriest and Natalie Fondriest of Bay Village, OH, and Olivia Faherty and Dylan Faherty of Nashua, NH, as well as his sister Joanne (William) King of Greenville, NH, niece Jaqueline (Denis) Arsenault of Leominster, MA, nephew Donald Sawin of Lyndeborough, NH, best friend of 54 years Daniel Bixby of Torrington, CT, and several great nieces and nephew.

Don enjoyed a wonderful sense of humor, and a penchant for adventure. He frequently practiced random acts of kindness and generosity. There was nothing Don loved more than spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

He will be cremated, with internment of his ashes at Forest Hill Cemetery in Fitchburg, MA to take place at a future date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The ALS Association, PO Box 37022, Boone, IA 50037-0022 or to the Pickaway County Dog Shelter, 21253 Ringgold Southern Rd., Circleville, OH 43113.
