Joseph C. Devine
Joseph C. Devine, 72, resident of Milford, NH, died February 24, 2010 in Sebastian, Florida.
He was born in Nashua, NH on May 23, 1937, a son of the late Joseph E. and Amelia (Calvetti) Devine. Raised and educated in Wilton, NH, he was a graduate of Wilton High School and attended St. Anselm College and Boston College.
Mr. Devine resided in Milford for more than 35 years and wintered in Sebastian, Florida for many years.
He was the founder of J.C. Devine, Inc., Auctioneer and Appraisers in Milford, which he had operated for the past 40 years.
Mr. Devine was a lifetime member of the NRA and enjoyed hunting, fishing and sailing on Lake Winnipesaukee.
He was predeceased by his wife, Ann (McGrath) Devine, who died in 1991.
Family members include four sons, Joseph J. Devine of Brookline, NH, John C. Devine of Amherst, NH, James M. Devine of Milford, NH and Jason E. Devine; a daughter, Christine A. Sacco of Hudson, MA; ten grandchildren; and his longtime companion, Bridgette Connolly of Manchester, NH.
Calling hours were Tuesday, March 2nd from 4:00-6:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. A mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 am in St. Patrick’s Church, 34 Amherst Street, Milford. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wilton, NH, in the spring.
