Janet (Hokinson Sexton) Borgiotti, 78, of Chevy Chase, MD passed away on January 30, 2011, after a long illness.

She was the daughter of Louella (Hecker) and Maurice Hokinson and grew up in Milford, NH where she graduated from Milford High School in 1950. After college Janet spent most of her adult life in Washington D.C. and Maryland. She worked in the Alumni Office of Georgetown Day School and was active in The Kenwood Garden Club, Women’s Democratic Club in Montgomery Country, and Ikebana International in Washington.

She was an avid cook, loved the arts and history and traveled extensively including several safaris.

She leaves behind her husband, Giorgio Borgiotti, her son, Adam Sexton (wife Michele) of Venice, CA, her daughter, Diana Sexton O’Brien (husband Dave) of Centreville, VA, four grandchildren. Lexi and Colin Sexton, Hogan and Helene O’Brien, a niece, Shaye (Hokinson) Hardner, and nephew, Nils Hokinson. She was predeceased by her first husband, John Sexton, in 1982, and her brother, Peter Hokinson in 1990. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 12 at 11am at the Unitarian Church, 6301 River Rd., Bethesda, MD. The interment will be private.
