Lionel R. Bergeron

Greenville, NH – Lionel R. Bergeron, 88 of Temple Rd. died Friday, March 18, 2011 at Monadnock Community Hospital, Peterborough after an illness.

He was born in Greenville on November 20, 1922, the son of Henry M. and Alexina (Ouellette) Bergeron. He was a lifelong resident of Greenville.

He received his diploma from Milford High School, class of 1943. After school he entered the Army during WWII from 1943 to 1945. He engaged in ground combat in Normandy, Northern France, and the Rhineland.

Mr. Bergeron was employed many years as a machinist for Hy-Ten Tool & Die of Milford, retiring in 1988.

He was a member of the LeClair-Caron-Pelletier American Legion of Greenville. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Greenville.

He was an avid motorcyclist. He loved and was very dedicated to his family.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Rita J. (Lafond) Bergeron of Greenville. A son, Raymond Bergeron of Epsom, NH. A daughter, Patricia Hunter of Marlborough, NH. Two grandchildren. A sister, Alida Martin of Raymond, NH. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

There are no calling hours. A memorial mass will be celebrated Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Greenville. Burial with military honors will be at a later date in Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery, New Ipswich.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent dePaul Society, 15 High Street, Greenville, NH 03048.

The Fournier Funeral Home, 12 High Street in Greenville is in charge of arrangements.
