Mary R. D’Amato, 89, resident of Milford, NH, died June 1, 2011 at St. Joseph Hospital, Nashua, NH.

She was born in Milford, NH on September 22, 1921, a daughter of Antonio and Anna (D’Andrea) Amadio.

Mrs. D’Amato was a native of Milford where she made her home for most of her life and had also resided in Waterbury, CT for 15 years.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, crafts and was an avid reader. Her true joy came from spending time with her family.

Mrs. D’Amato was a communicant of St. Patrick Church, Milford.

She was predeceased by her husband, Gaetano J. “Tony” D’Amato, who died in 1994 and a brother, Joseph Amadio, who died in 2004.

Family members include a brother, Louis J. Amadio of Milford, NH; a niece, Alicia Shea and her husband, Malcolm of Milford; a nephew, Roberts S. Amadio and his wife, Brenda of Milford; several nieces and nephews in Connecticut; also survived by great nieces, great nephews and a cousin.

There are no calling hours. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 4th at 10:00 am in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Milford.
