Eleanor Coffin Kittredge Marks

Eleanor Coffin Kittredge Marks, age 104, died on July 5, 2011 in Venice, Florida.

She was born in Boston, MA on November 26, 1906 to Louis and Alice W. Coffin and grew up in Nantucket, MA.

Mrs. Marks graduated from Cushing Academy in 1926 and Gibbs secretarial school.

After her marriage to Winston Kittredge Sr., they raised their family in Milford, NH.

During this time they owned and operated the Kittredge Granite Quarry.

Prior to her retirement to Florida, she moved to Manchester, NH and was employed as an executive secretary of the Manchester Savings Bank.

She is survived by two sons, Winston Kittredge Jr. of Canaan, Vermont; and David Kittredge of Manchester, NH; a brother Louis “Bunty” Coffin of Ottumwa, Iowa; three grandsons, a granddaughter, and many great- and great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her first husband Winston Kittredge Sr. in 1957, her daughter Elaine Kittredge Gimas in 2001 and her second husband Louis Marks in 2002 as well as two sisters and two brothers.

Mrs. Marks was happiest when entertaining, visiting, or corresponding with her immediate and extended family and large circle of friends. Her hobbies included cooking, gardening, photography, bird tending, and needlework.

There will be no calling hours and a private committal service will be held at the Riverside Cemetery in Milford, NH at the convenience of the family.
