Cecile Mazrolle

Born Marie Cecile Gagne in Waterloo, Quebec to Aurel and Marie (Dube) Gagne, Cecile moved to Boston, MA in 1946, the post-World War II bride of Robert Mazrolle. Cecile was predeceased by her husband of 38 years in 1984 and by her daughter, Lisa Mazrolle Pearson, in 1987.

Cecile and her husband settled in Bristol, CT, where she lived most of her life. There she lovingly tended her family of five children. As a fulltime stay at home mother and homemaker, she was always there to tend to sick children, create meals from scratch, and mend minor and major childhood injuries. For the last 13 years of her life Cecile lived in Milford, NH, where she shared a home with her son, Bob.

Cecile’s kitchen was a place of comfort and security for the many friends her children brought home throughout their lives. She was a woman of great patience and kindness. Big hearted, she was quick to forgive. Her lessons will not be forgotten. Cecile’s love of gardening inspired three generations of plant lovers, a living legacy to her passion. Her name will not be found in any history books, but the ripples created by the pebbles of love she cast out freely will spread wide for years to come.

After a prolonged chronic illness Cecile passed away surrounded by the love and support of family and friends to a place of comfort, peace and beauty. Cecile demonstrated exemplary courage and strength throughout her struggle with emphysema.

Her feisty, cheerful spirit will remain with those left to honor her memory: daughter, Darlene Nadeau, and partner, George Maloof, of Plymouth, NH, son, Robert Mazrolle, and partner, Nancy Catino, of Milford, NH, son, James Mazrolle, and wife, Toby, of Hiltons, VA and daughter, Susan Mazrolle, of Ludlow, MA. Cecile leaves grandchildren, Bryan Nadeau, his wife Christa and their daughter Sage of Truckee, CA; Jesse Nadeau of Dorchester, MA, Christopher, Laura and Julia (Mazrolle) Burgess of Ludlow, MA. Cecile also leaves a sister, Marcelle Boisvert, and husband Clement and a brother, Marius Gagne, and wife Muriel of Drummondville, Que. and many nieces and nephews throughout Quebec.

The family thanks Home Health and Hospice Care who made it possible for Cecile to continue living her final days at home under the loving care of her son Bob.

A celebration of Cecile’s life will be held at a future date for family and friends. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars or your preferred charity.
