Shirley J. Carpentiere, 71, resident of Lyndeborough, NH, died September 27, 2011 at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Peterborough, NH on September 7, 1940, a daughter of Robert and Mary (Todd) Gallant.

Shirley made her home in Lyndeborough for the past 37 years and formerly resided in Brookline, NH and Milford, NH for several years. She enjoyed quilting and photography, was an avid golfer and a member of Crotched Mountain Golf Club.

Shirley was predeceased by two sisters, Norma Bystrak and Patricia Croteau, and a brother, Richard Brown. Family members include her husband of 54 years, Philip H. Carpentiere of Lyndeborough, NH; two sons and daughters-in-law, Philip H. Carpentiere Jr. and Sherry of Lyndeborough, NH, Casey and Elizabeth Carpentiere of Temple, NH; a daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Michael Hamilton of Antrim, NH; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Loni Eveleth of Rochester, NH; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Douglas and Carol Brown of Merrimack, NH, Thomas and Kathy Brown of Auburn, NH; a sister-in-law, Denise Hippert of Amherst, NH; dear friends, Ro and Phil Monagle of Amherst, NH; several nieces and nephews.

There are no visiting hours. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 30th at 10:00 am in the Milford United Methodist Church, 327 North River Road, Milford, NH, followed by cremation.
