Rocca, Peter F. Sr. (SMOKY) 89, of Largo, FL. died December 16th, 2011.

He was born April 15th, 1922 in Milford, N.H. to Mafalda (Cattaneo) and Dominic Rocca.

He was preceded in death by his parents: daughter Sarah Dyer-Sullivan, grandson Michael Dyer, sister Elizabeth Pascarelli and brother Dominic Rocca.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years Sarah (Sally), daughter Patricia of Lyndeborough, N.H. sons Peter Jr and William Rocca of Largo, FL, grandson Matthew Dyer of Manassas, VA. And many cousins, nieces & nephews.

He belonged to St. Patrick’s Church in Milford for 40 years and St. Cecelia’s in Clearwater, FL for 10 years.

Before joining the US Army Air Corps in 1942 he worked at Abbott Machine in Wilton, N.H. in 1945 he worked at GE in Fitchburg, Mass. Then in 1953 he joined Sanders Associates (now BAE) in Nashua N.H. retiring in 1989 after 36 years. After retirement he volunteered at Souhegan Valley Resources working with the Developmentally Disabled. He was a volunteer Fireman on the Milford Fire Department for 19 years. Peter belonged to the American Legion for over 50 years, Knights of Columbus for 44 years in Milford & Pinellas Park FL serving as Grand Knight and Faithful Navigator on the Council Level and Auditor, Squires Chairman and Columbiette Liaison on the State Level and the Alhambra for 32 years serving as Grand Commander and Regional Director. He Graduated from Milford High School in 1940.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to SHARE Outreach, 1 Columbus Ave, Milford N.H. 03055. Memorial service will be held in May with burial to be at New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
