Dixie-Lee Danforth
MILFORD, NH – Dixie- Lee Danforth, 78, lifelong resident of Milford, died suddenly on September 30, 2015 at Catholic Medical Center, Manchester.
She was born in Roanoke, VA on May 6, 1937, a daughter of Harry and Celia (Horne) Melendy. She graduated from Milford High School, Class of 1956.
Mrs. Danforth had been employed by A & P Grocery Store for several years. She loved gardening, animals, working on various crafts and truly enjoyed helping others.
She was a loving wife, a devoted mother and cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a true believer of God’s Word and loved the Lord Jesus Christ.
She was predeceased by her infant daughter, Melinda.
Family members include her husband of 60 years, Charles L. Danforth of Milford; three sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Brenda Danforth, Mark and Gail Danforth, and David Danforth, all of Milford; six grandchildren, Charles and wife Pamela Danforth, Brian and wife Jessica Danforth, Briana and husband Jeff Herlihy, Brilee, Logan and Brooke; three great-grandchildren, Arabelle, Hunter and Isaac; and a sister, Suzanne Melendy of Lyndeborough.
A (casual) celebration of her life with family and friends will be held Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015 from noon-4 p.m. at her home on 19 Young Road, Milford.
