Frederick P. Stewart
>Frederick P. Stewart, 84, resident of Milford, NH, died June 26, 2016, at the Elliot Hospital Manchester, NH, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Colebrook, NH on May 3, 1932, a son of the late Frederick P.R. and Lucy (Parkhurst) Stewart.
Fred made his home in the Milford area for the past eight years and had formerly resided in Colebrook for many years.
In his earlier years, he worked as a part time police officer for the town of Colebrook. He had been employed for New England Telephone/Verizon for more than 30 years. Following his retirement, he owned and operated a tire recycling company in southern New Hampshire and had also worked for MuShield Inc., of Manchester.
He was a true outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, snowmobiling and vacationing at his camp in Pittsburg, NH. Fred relished time spent with his family, especially with his great-grandson Wyatt.
Fred was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion, Canaan, Vt. In addition, he had been an active member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and had served in many official positions within the organization.
He was predeceased by a grandson, Corey Stoller; and a brother, Dale Stewart.
Family members include his wife of 61 years, Jacquelyn (Brigham) Stewart of Milford, NH; a daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Bruce Stoller of Milford, NH; a grandson and his wife, Andrew and Melanie Stoller and their son, Wyatt Stoller, all of Milford; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There are no visiting hours. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Saturday, July 9th at 1:00 p.m. in the Colebrook Village Cemetery, Colebrook, NH.
