William F. Curless
>BRADFORD, NH – William F. Curless, 81, of Davis Road, died Thursday, September 1, 2016 in Bradford.
He was born in Belmont, MA on May 21, 1935 the son of Frank W. and Gertrude M. (Gruhn) Curless.
He graduated from Belmont High School and attended Northeastern. Bill served in the U.S. Army for two years and then the Reserves for four years. While living in MA, he worked for Sanborn, where they built medical equipment and McPherson Instruments, where he worked on the first EKG machine. Bill worked at Itek in the Aerospace industry, where he helped make and fine tune hand held cameras used by the astronauts. Later he left the hi tech world and worked at Boise Cascade Real Estate. They moved to Bradford, NH in 1972 and he owned and operated Curless and Sons building area homes retiring 10 years ago.
Bill was a member of the Concord Aero Guidance Society working with radio control airplanes. He enjoyed building model airplanes to scale and flying them.
His wife of 53 years, Patricia (Minott) Curless, died in 2010. Members of his family surviving include three children and their spouses, William and Debbie Curless of Sutton, NH, Jeffrey and Laurie Curless of Milford, NH and Lisa and Al Myers of Bradford, NH; eight grandchildren, Andrea, Benjamin, Abigail, Jeffrey, Elizabeth, Adrian, Meaghan and Emily; four great-grandchildren, Gregory, Edward, Oliver and Daisy; a brother and his wife, Richard W. and Judy Curless of Westford, MA and Bradford, NH; and two nieces, Barbara Carter of Henniker, NH and Susan Curless of Hawaii.
Friends may call at the Chadwick Funeral Home, 235 Main Street, New London, NH on Friday, September 9, 2016 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. in Sunny Plain Cemetery, Bradford, NH with military honors.
