Gary Murdoch Smith
Gary Murdoch Smith, 63, formerly of Milford, died October 2, 2016, at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Sebring, FL after a battle with lung cancer.
Mr. Smith was born in Nashua, NH on March 26, 1953, at the Nashua Memorial Hospital. He was the son of the late James and Mary Ann (Clark) Smith. For many years, his father owned and operated the Smith TV Repair & Sales stores in Milford and Wilton, NH. His paternal grandparents were the late Murdoch Sturton and Jesse (Smith) Smith who owned and operated Smith Florist in Milford. They were immigrants from Scotland. His maternal grandparents were the late Frederick and Ruth (Powers) Clark. Mr. Smith attended the Milford schools and was employed as a maintenance operative in food service establishments. He possessed a great love for music and was an avid electronics sound systems buff. Mr. Smith was also known for his great sense of humor and was a huge fan of Boston’s professional sports teams – Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics and Bruins.
Mr. Smith was predeceased by his brother Scott Sturton Smith who died in 1972. He is survived by a number of maternal aunts and uncles and numerous cousins from both sides of his family.
The Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home & Crematory of Sebring, FL and the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford have made the funeral arrangements. Burial for Mr. Smith will be at the Riverside Cemetery in Milford at a later date.
