David Charles Richardson

David Charles Richardson, 72, of Fayetteville, GA, passed away, with family at his side August 30, 2017 at Piedmont Fayette Community Hospital due to secondary complications of advanced Alzheimer’s type dementia.

David is survived by his wife of Emma of 48 years, sons James and Micah, Brother William, Sisters Carol and Mary and Grand Daughters Elizabeth and Cheyenne, many nieces and nephews and extended family.

David was born and raised in Hanover, MA, on December 16, 1944 to William and Grace (Reynolds) Richardson. He grew up with a love of music he gained from his mother and had ambitions to play the french horn professionally, but it was his love of electronics that would be his life’s calling. After attending technical school in Boston he started work at H.H. Scott, Inc and Sprague Electric Company. It was there he met his wife Emma and moved to the town of Milford, NH. His was carrier would shift from military contractors Raytheon, Inc and Sanders Inc. And would lead to computer graphics workstations at Adage, Inc, printing and publishing and medical testing equipment with Crossfield Inc which would be bought by Dupont, Inc and then sold to Dade-Behring Inc. David took it as a matter of pride that the computer he helped design for was used in the feature films “Tron” and “Top Gun”.

David was very active in the community of his adopted town of Milford serving as Trustee for the Wadleigh Memorial Library from 1977-1980, and as secretary on the Town Hall Advisory Committee from 1989-1990. And served on several neighborhood leadership roles in both Milford and in retirement in Hudson, FL. But it was his 10 years (1979-1989) as an EMT for the Milford Volunteer Ambulance Service that he was most proud of. It is unknown how many lives David touched with his service or with the many CPR and First Aid classes he had taught in his lifetime.

David’s career would move him to Fayetteville, GA where he enjoyed fly fishing as well his other hobbies of hiking and camping. David retired, and moved with his wife Emma, to Hudson, Florida in 2010, and returned to Fayetteville, GA in the spring of 2016 to battle his illness closer to family. He will be sorely missed.

A private ceremony of of immediate family will be scheduled in the coming weeks with ashes to be dispersed in the north Georgia mountains. I lieu of flowers please send donations in David’s name to the Milford Volunteer Ambulance Association, 66 Elm St., Milford, NH 03055
