Joseph J. Galletta

WILTON, NH – Joseph J. Galletta 77, resident of Wilton, NH, passed on May 19, 2019 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, Nashua, NH surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Belmont, MA on January 22, 1942, the son of the late Salvatore and Mary (Krill) Galletta. He graduated from Belmont High School, Class of 1959 and Bentley College, Class of 1961.

Joe married the love of his life, Joyce Frissore, and moved to Wilton from Watertown, MA in 1965, pursuing an accounting career with Hitchiner Manufacturing. Soon after, he started with NCR Corporation where he worked for more than 35 years until retiring as Boston Regional Manager. Following his retirement, they enjoyed spending winters at their second home in Largo, FL.

Joe was predeceased by two sisters, Dorothy Adams and Evelyn King. He is survived by Joyce, his wife of 54 years, five children, eleven grandchildren and one great granddaughter; Dorene Galletta of Hampton, NH; Joseph C. and Jennifer Galletta of Durham, ME and their children Kara, Lindsey and Ryanne; Diane and Kurt Soucy of Milford, NH and their children Nathan, Camden and Hazen; Debra and Noel Schilling of Morrill, KS and their children Nicole, Emma and Cray, and their grandchild Sutton; and Richard and Laurie Galletta of Goffstown, NH and their children Katie and Elizabeth; his brother and sister-in-law James and Carole Galletta of Woburn, MA; a sister and brother-in-law Alice and Ron Papia of Las Vegas, NV; and many nieces, nephews and beloved in-laws.

Joe was a past President of the Wilton Lions Club. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling, but his true passion was his grandchildren.

Calling hours are on Thursday, May 23rd from 2-4 & 6-8 pm and Friday, May 24th from 8-9 am in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 am in St. Patrick’s Church, 34 Amherst Street, Milford, NH. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wilton, NH.
