Marie J. (Comire) Tighe, a Milford native, passed away peacefully surrounded by her devoted family ( at her home on Dearborn St at the dawn of Sunday, May 19, 2019.

Born December 19, 1962; Marie is predeceased by her loving parents, Roger F. and Margaret “Peg” (Tarara) Comire of Milford who many knew and loved from Jim’s Store and Roger’s postal route. Marie is also predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Donald E.(Sr.) and Nathalie (Gregory) Comire from Milford who owned the Abiel Holt House for many decades; her maternal grandparents, John R. and Maria Santa “Mary” (Lusignolo) Tarara of Groton, MA where Mr. Tarara served as an Air Raid Warden in WWII, and a brother, Edward Donald Comire, of Merrimack, NH.

Marie was a talented gardener with an enviable backyard and a skilled crocheter who covered the children in her family with warmth and love. Marie retired from the US Postal service, Milford branch. Marie was a direct descendant (paternal grandfather’s side) of the Wing family which settled the town of Sandwich, MA in the early 1600s. Marie was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling, especially to Cocoa, Florida, with her family.

Marie is survived by her doting husband James Tighe, of the home, and three cherished daughters; Joanna L. Milligan, of Somerville MA; Rebecca E. Milligan, of Denver, CO; and Alison M. Comire, of Somerville, MA.

Marie is also survived by a treasured granddaughter, Lakota Rain Milligan; three siblings John (Denise) Comire, of Bow, NH; Roger (Jeanette) Comire, of Milford NH; and Rebecca (Doug) Wilcox of Jacksonville, FL; as well as five nephews, Michael, Tony, Douglas, Ben, and Shane Comire; two nieces, Tara Comire and Josette Marie Wilcox; and several great nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at the Congregational Church of Milford, Sat. June 22, at 10 AM.
