Jean B. (Riendeau) Rood, age 82, wife of Ronald H. Rood, of Cocoa FL, died May 31, 2019 after a battle with lung cancer. Jean was a resident of Milford, NH for most of her adult life. Jean worked for Hitchiner Mfg. for 36 years before she retired to Florida in 1996. Jean always opened her doors in welcome to family, friends and strangers alike with open arms and a warm smile. Jean is survived by her husband of 68 years, Ronald, and her 5 children, Linda Rood of Cocoa FL; Barbara (Rod) Stone of Richlands, NC; Diana (Ernest) Archambault of Cocoa, FL; Ronald “Butch” Rood, Jr., of Milford, NH; and Pam Rood (Karim Marrakchi) of Ashburn, VA; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, 4 sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 7 at 10:30 a.m. at Surfside Community Fellowship, 1720 Cox Road, Cocoa FL. Jean will be laid to rest in Milford, NH at a later date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of St. Francis, Titusville, FL, in her memory.
