John J. Macredie

John J. Macredie, 76, resident of Crossville, TN, and formerly of Merrimack, NH died on November 10, 2020.

John was born in Boston, MA on April 13, 1944, and was the son of Chester and Margaret Macredie. John was raised in Wellesley, MA and attended Babson College receiving a Degree in Business Administration.

After college, John enlisted in the United States Army attaining the rank of Sergeant. After serving in the Army, John was a Defense Contractor and traveled the world over to include living in VA, FL, Saudi Arabia, and NH. John retired from BAE Systems in 2005 and moved to Crossville, TN to retire with his wife Carole and son Douglas. John is also a Past Master of the King Solomon Chapter 17 Lodge of Royal Arch Masons in Milford, NH. While in TN, John turned his hobby of repairing clocks and watches into a passion while retired and was known as The Clock Maker. Nothing made John happier than spending time with his daughter, son, grandchildren, fishing, hunting, and fixing clocks.

John was predeceased by his wife Carole of 47 years in 2013 and his brother Chet (Chester Jr.) Macredie in 2016.

Family members include his daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Christopher Murphy of Montclair, VA; his son Douglas Macredie of Crossville, TN; his six granddaughters, Nora, Megan, Bridget, Molly, Lucy, and Sarah of Montclair, VA; and sister-in-law Peggy Macredie of Newport News, VA.
