MILFORD – Elaine M. Mayhew, 85, resident of Milford, NH died on February 2, 2021 at Ledgewood Bay Assisted Living, Milford.

She was born in Harrington, Maine on July 18, 1935, a daughter of Charles F. and Jessie (Nichols) Lawrence.

Elaine made her home in Amherst, NH for 50 years and later moved to Milford in 2013. She had been an active member of the Amherst Baptist Church/Village Bible Church and served on many committees over the years, having also taught Sunday School. In addition, she was a member of TOPS weight loss group and the Amherst Junior Women’s Club.

Elaine was a homemaker, and in her younger years was active in the Girl Scouts with her daughters. She and her late husband, Dana K. Mayhew, spent more than 25 years summering at the family cottage in East Boothbay, ME.

In addition to her husband of 58 years, she was predeceased by her brother, Walter Lawrence; and a granddaughter, Jacqueline Elaine Sexton.

Family members include two sons and daughters-in-law, Carroll and Terryjo Mayhew of Northfield, NH, and Steven and Winona Mayhew of Dublin, NH; two daughters, Susan Sexton and Karen Sickler both of Milford; 17 Grandchildren; 10 Great Grandchildren; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Katrina and Robert Norberg of SW Harbor, ME, Junita and Bud Drisko of Orrington, ME, and Helene and Robert Hammond of Harrington, ME; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
