Bruce R. Marr

Bruce R. Marr (66) passed away peacefully at his home in SanTan Valley, Arizona after a short battle with a rare kidney disease. In his final hours he was surrounded by his loving wife, family, friends and caregivers.

Born August 19,1955 in Everett, MA to Donald (deceased) and Frances Marr, his family moved to Bedford NH in the late 70’s. He started his career in the Amherst School District as a maintenance supervisor and continued his role until he retired in 2012.

Bruce’s personality was structured with traits such as being kind hearted, loving, resilient, selfness and humorous. He would light up a room with his presence and could always make someone laugh. In his youth he was an avid hiker, summiting many of the mountains within New Hampshire to include Mt. Washington. He loved to go camping with family and friends and enjoying the scenic sights and sounds of the White Mountains. He also loved playing hockey as a young man, he would often fill the goalie position reminiscing in his adult years of the saves he had made. Bruce enjoyed watching the Boston Bruins and the New England Patriots. His favorite players were Bobby Orr, Raymond Bourque and Rob Gronkowski among others. He also had a great interest for anything to do with trains and television shows relevant to his time of youth.

Bruce is remembered as a wonderful son, husband, father, step-father, brother, uncle and friend.

Survivors include his Mother, Frances Marr of Goffstown, NH and his wife Christine (Guerette) Marr of SanTan Valley Arizona. Two sons, Timothy Marr of Alamogordo New Mexico, Gregory Marr of Pittsfield New Hampshire and grandson Kaden Marr also from Pittsfield NH. Two step children, Matthew and his wife Lydia Szelog of Tucson AZ and step-daughter Ashley Szelog of SanTan Valley AZ. Sister-in-law Heidi Markaverich of SanTan Valley AZ, a brother-in-law Douglas Guerette of North Carolina and mother-in-law Maureen (Cookie) Guerette of SanTan Valley AZ. Sister and brother-in-law Laura and Roger Hamilton of Goffstown NH; brother and sister-in-law, Craig and Dottie Marr of Hooksett NH; brother Donald Marr of Manchester NH; sister and brother-in-law Diane and Loren Morgan of Fort Collins Colorado; sister and brother-in-law Gail and Robert Bertolami of Chelmsford MA and a brother Wayne Marr of Manchester NH. A very dear friend Doris (Bourassa) Marr of Goffstown NH as well as many nieces and nephews and friends.

His loving wife of 9 years will greatly miss him.

His surviving family members will forever honor him.

May he rest in peace.

Bruce was an organ donor so a celebration of life will be held in Goffstown NH with his immediate family and friends.
