Carleton David Thatcher

(April 10, 1962-September 10, 2023)

Carleton David Thatcher, 61, affectionately known as “Scrappy” by his family and friends, passed away on September 10, 2023. David resided in Amherst, New Hampshire most of his life and recently resided in Burnsville, North Carolina. David was the son of Evelyn Jean Thatcher and Carleton Richard Thatcher.

David’s persona cannot be overstated! Though his passions were music, cars and barbecuing nothing surpassed his love of family.

As a son David would stay up until midnight doing puzzles with his Mom and spend time helping her garden (though in reality he was playing with his trucks). He’d spend hours with his Dad sharing and enjoying their love and passion for cars.

As a brother David was loving and protective, the best friend possible. He was always there to take a call and lend a shoulder to lean on over the miles; ready to share happy times creating memories to last forever.

As an uncle David instilled a sense of freedom, peace and was a relaxing presence. He was always smiling and laughing. Never taking things too seriously, he brought that joy to other people. Waiting for him to visit was excruciating; anticipating the hug he would give you when he arrived. He exuded happiness, fun and the feeling of being loved. Your heart was sad when it was time for him to leave.

As a friend he was loyal; through thick and thin he was always by your side.

David had the gift of finding a way to make you laugh when your spirit needed uplifting and your heart needed a chuckle. He will always be remembered in little pieces of life here and there. Part of him will live on in those memories and he will forever make us smile. We are thankful that we were able to share our lives with him.

David is survived by his siblings; Linda and Mike Buffelli, Debra Thatcher, Karen Simoneau, Michael Thatcher and Jody Nemcek, nieces and nephews; Nicholas French, Brandi French, Teresa and Henry Whitney, Kelly Atwood, Amanda and Tyler Bennett, Tucker Nemcek, Kristen, Anthony and Theo Pierce, Nathan, Alyson and Remi Kittredge, Jacob and Morgan Kittredge

and many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. He is predeceased by stepmother Carolyn Thatcher.
