Wayne G. Smith, 79, longtime resident of Milford, NH, died on April 17, 2025, at the Community Hospice House, Merrimack, NH, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Goffstown, NH, on August 27, 1945, a son of the late George and Dorothy (Gagnon) Smith Jr.

Wayne was raised and educated in Milford and graduated Milford High School class of 1963. Following graduation Wayne enlisted in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in June of 1969.

He worked for many years as a skilled welder and carpenter. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed time spent golfing, bluegrass music, bowling and being with his family. He will be greatly missed by many.

Survivors include his loving wife, Bonnie Smith of Milford, NH, his son Michael and Karen Breagy of Wolfeboro, NH, two stepdaughters, Lori Frances and her companion Michael Pelletier of Milford, NH and Ginger and Jerry Basner of Laconia, NH, two sisters, Roxanne Smith of AZ and Rosemary and her husband Normand Nadeau of Milford, NH, one brother, Monty and his wife Anita Smith of Lyndeborough, NH and many close friends.

SERVICES: A calling hour will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. A funeral service will follow the visit hour in the funeral home Chapel at 11:00 AM. Burial with military honors will conclude in the Riverside Cemetery, Milford.
