Douglas Cleveland MacLeod

Douglas Cleveland MacLeod passed away on March 18, 2025 at his home in Arvada, CO at the age of 75. Born in Manchester, NH, Doug was a lifelong Boston sports fan, skier and skilled carpenter. He loved his friends and family fiercely, and between him and his 4 brothers, there was always an adventure to be had. Sometimes those adventures turned into challenges, but they all made for really great stories which he loved to tell.

Doug spent many years of his adult life living on Hilton Head Island, SC where he raised his 2 children. The beach was a happy place for him, and there was no such thing as too much time in the sun and surf. He moved to Colorado in 2011, shortly after the birth of his first grandchild to be closer to his kids and grandkids. He continued his carpentry career there, and enjoyed skiing with his family and watching as many of the grandkid’s sporting events as he could.

If you knew Doug, you probably have a laughable story that includes him in it. He made an impact on all who met him. His laughter, stories, love of good music and great books will be greatly missed.

Doug was predeceased by his parents, Bob and Irene MacLeod; his two brothers, Skip and Ken MacLeod; and his son in law Lawton Davis. Surviving are his daughter Laura MacLeod Davis and her children Logan & Colby; his son Sam MacLeod and fiancée Ashley Ekstrom; his brother Steve MacLeod and wife Pam; his sister in laws Meg MacLeod and Sandi MacLeod, his former wife Jody MacLeod; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Doug’s life will be celebrated on July 27th from 1-5 at the Iron Furnace Brewery in Franconia, NH. In memory of this great man, please show an act of kindness today.
