Lawrence E. Platte, Jr.
Lawrence E. Platte, Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, in North Port, Florida. Born on November 20, 1945, in Nashua, New Hampshire, Larry lived a life full of love, adventure, and dedication to his family and community. He was the cherished son of the late Lawrence and Alma (Welch) Platte.
Larry’s early years in Nashua were marked by a deep sense of community and family ties. He shared a close bond with his sister, Portia (Platte) Grandmaison. Larry’s journey through life led him to meet his first wife, Betty (Weber) Platte. Later, he found love again with Linda (Fariole) Platte, his devoted wife, and partner, with whom he spent 57 years of a happy marriage.
A man of many talents, Larry was well-known for his entrepreneurial spirit. Alongside his beloved wife Linda, he owned and operated the Milford Diner in Milford, New Hampshire, for 15 successful years. Larry & Linda moved to Florida for a warmer climate in 2008.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Larry had a passion for stock car racing, along with his son Jonathan. A hobby that brought him much joy and excitement.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Charlotte (Platte) True, and his devoted son, Jonathan Platte, both of North Port, Florida. Larry adored his three grandchildren, Mark, Erica, and Stephanie, and took great delight in watching them grow and thrive. His legacy of love and laughter will continue to live on through his six great-grandchildren: Madison, Sebastian, Maverick, Memphis, Wesson, and Bretton.
Larry’s life was a testament to the power of love, friendship, and community. He was a man who embraced every moment, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life and sharing that joy with those around him. His warm heart and generous spirit touched the lives of many.
