Gertrude T. ‘Trudi’ Masseur

Gertrude T. “Trudi” Masseur, 72, of Nashua, NH passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, NH.

She was born in Brooklyn, NY on April 12, 1938, the daughter of the late John and Gertrude (Fleisch) Morrison.

Trudi was educated in the NY school system, graduating from Our Lady of Mercy High School, Class of 1954 in Syosset, NY. She then started her own business with her mother in Cold Spring Harbor, NY as a children’s clothing designer. Trudi was extremely talented in clothing design, designing one of a kind christening and communion dresses. Upon moving to Nashua, NH in 1972, she opened and operated Century House, a children’s boutique on Main St. in Nashua. Trudi loved to sew, spend time with the love of her life, her husband Jerry, and be surrounded by the laughter and love of her family and friends. She was extremely proud and devoted to her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was the “rock” of her family and will be sadly missed by them all.

Trudi was predeceased by her loving husband with whom she shared 48 years of marriage, Gerard T. Masseur Sr. in 2006.

She is survived by a son, Jerry Masseur Jr. and his wife Amy of Nashua, two daughters, Jackie Masseur and Mike Lesko of Nashua, and Lisa Schmalz and her husband Steve of Hollis, NH; her mother-in-law, Catherine Bassett of Nashua; nine grandchildren, Sara, Craig and Tom Schmalz, Brad, Adam, Gabrielle and Griffin Masseur, Kate, and Emily Polychronopoulos and their father Toby Polychronopoulos.

There are no visiting hours, and all services will be private. The ZIS-SWEENEY FUNERAL HOME, 26 KINSLEY ST., NASHUA, NH 03060 is handling the arrangements.
