Alan W. Moksu

Alan Moksu, 66, of Hollis died on July 22, 2011 at his home following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Moksu was born on August 21, 1944 in Newport, Rhode Island, son of the late Walter and Evelyn (Mac Leod) Moksu. He had been a resident of Hollis since 1975.

Mr. Moksu was the husband of Elizabeth “Beth” Moksu. They shared 36 years of marriage.

He was a graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute where he received his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He also received a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Northeastern University.

Mr. Moksu was a mechanical engineer for the former Sanders Associates (now BAE Systems). Following his time with Sanders, he worked for General Electric and Kollsman. Most recently, he owned A&B Travel with his wife.

He was a member of the Hollis Brookline Rotary Club and was a Paul Harris Fellow. He was also a member of the Hollis Fire Department for many years and also served as an EMT.

He was an avid golfer. In his younger years, he was a swimmer and member of several swim teams including while a student at WPI.

Mr. Moksu was a veteran of the US Army during the Vietnam era.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Karen Beaulieu of North Carolina, and two nephews.

SERVICES: Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial donation “In Memory of Alan Moksu” to American Junior Golf Association Development Department, 1980 Sports Club Dr., Braselton, GA 30517 (www.ajga.org), a 501 (C) (3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the overall growth and development of young golfers to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf or the Hollis Firemen’s Association, P.O.
