Terry R. Helsing
Longtime Hollis resident, Terry Helsing, died on July 19, 2012. He was 67. Terry was predeceased by his loving parents Royden and Natalie Helsing. He is survived by his brother Peter Helsing and his children Ben Whitney and Ola Helsing and step-daughter Heather Gabelsberg.
Terry was a master carpenter as well as a wood craftsman of the highest order. He was “old-school” in that a job was not done unless it was well done. The pride that he took in his work showed in everything he created. He enjoyed the challenges faced when renovating old structures as well as designing new dwellings. His reputation stretched from the classic villages of New England to Florida, Arizona, and Arkansas.
Friends knew Terry to be a big-hearted, opinionated, loyal and often difficult character. He lived life on his own terms, he was a great story-teller because he had lived it. He will be missed by many.
If anyone would like to memorialize him, the family asks that donations be made to the Humane Society of Greater Nashua, 24 Ferry Road, Nashua, NH 03064, remembering Terry and his constant companion Nick the Wonder Dog.
