Arthur L. Larose

Arthur L. “Hershey” Larose, 95, of the Crown Hill area in Nashua, passed away on Monday evening, February 23, 2015, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH.

Arthur was born on August 8, 1919, in St. Jean-Chrysostome, Quebec, son of the late Joseph and Marie Anna (Gagnon) Larose. Arthur and his family moved to Nashua, NH, when he was 3 years old.

It is there that a fellow golfer observed his love of Hershey chocolate bars, nicknaming him “Hershey,” which followed him to this day.

Along with being an avid golfer, Arthur loved playing cards, especially cribbage, and although mostly blind with macular degeneration the last several years, he keenly remembered the cards played and managed to provide quite the challenge to his opponents. “Three games up, Frank.” He spent many years on Monday afternoons playing cards with friends at the Nashua Senior Center, and also many years with friends on a weekly basis at his home.
