Nancy B. Fischer

Nancy (Bullen) Fischer, widow of Robert A. Fischer, a longtime resident of Hollis, died Wednesday, October 19th at Castle Rock Adventist Hospital in Castle Rock, Colorado.

Born in 1933 in Marblehead, MA., Nancy received a Bachelor’s degree from Douglas College (now Rutgers University) in New Brunswick, NJ.

Nancy moved to Hollis in 1976 and lived there until 2001. She was a stay-at-home mother until she began working at Hollis Area High School as a Library Aide in 1982, where she worked for the next 16 years. She was much-loved there, and the class of 1985 dedicated their yearbook to her, an honor of which she was especially proud. She became an active member of the NEA, organizing and heading the first support-staff local in the state, and representing educational support staff at many national conventions. Nancy headed the Hollis High School Parent Volunteers and the building committee that built an addition to the high school, and was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. In her later years, she traveled extensively and indulged her love of classical-music concerts. Nancy was known for her warm and pleasant personality and sense of humor. She touched countless lives of friends, colleagues and students.

Members of her family include her two sons, Michael, who lives in N. Attleboro, MA, and Richard, who resides in Castle Rock, CO, and by two grandchildren.

Her family will receive relatives and friends at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Friday evening, October 28th from 7 to 9 p.m. Private interment will take place at East Cemetery in Hollis.
