Doris Rita (Boucher) Siergiewicz

Doris Rita (Boucher) Siergiewicz passed away of natural causes in Nashua NH on April 3rd, 2019. Doris was born on March 14, 1926 in Lowell MA. She was the daughter of Lucy Anne Boucher (Lowrey) and Wilfred Joseph Boucher. Doris was educated in the Lowell school system, played the trumpet for St. Rita’s cadets in junior high and in the Lowell high school band. After graduating from Lowell high school, Doris took a job with Sylvania in Massachusetts. She met her husband John Siergiewicz Sr. at the Commodore dance hall in Lowell. Doris and John got married and purchased a farm in Hollis, NH where they had a series of wonderful adventures including farming, raising turkeys, cows, horses, and their children. Doris also co-founded Hollis Line Machine Company “the shop”. She was the CFO of Hollis Line Machine Company until her retirement.

Doris was predeceased by her parents, her beloved daughter Carol Ann Siergiewicz, her brother Raymond Boucher of Colorado Springs, CO, her husband of 57 years John Siergiewicz Sr., and her brother Edward Boucher of Absecon, NJ.

Doris became a parishioner of the former St Stanislaus Church in Nashua NH when she married her husband John. She immersed herself in the Polish community at St. Stanislaus. She learned how to make all the special dishes and kept the Polish holiday traditions of Wigilia on Christmas Eve and Swieconka at Easter. She worked at the St. Stanislaus Thursday night bingo events for over thirty years and was a member of the St Stanislaus Ladies Guild. She met most of her good friends in Hollis by taking her children to swim lessons at Silver Lake State Park and many of those friendships went on to last a lifetime. Doris spent much of her free time outside of her job with Hollis Line Machine Company doing volunteer work. She made pies and strawberry shortcake for the Hollis Women’s Club festivals, passed out food and drink at the American Red Cross blood drives, and helped out with countless other organizations. Towards the end of her life she was still doing volunteer work by knitting baby blankets for the local hospital maternity wards. Doris was a master vegetable and flower gardener, seamstress, bowler, and polka dancer. She loved people, and made friends with everyone she met. She loved a good party that had food and wine. Doris made friends with everyone she met. She loved being with her family the most and will be greatly missed by them.

Doris is survived by her son John Siergiewicz Jr. and his wife Gail of Amherst NH, James Siergiewicz and his wife Barbara of Rockport MA, daughter Laurie Siergiewicz and her boyfriend Kenneth Thompson of Hampton NH, grandson Andrew Siergiewicz and his wife Ashley of Hamilton MA, granddaughter Dr. Leigh Siergiewicz and her husband Stephen Buller and great-granddaughter Vivienne Siergiewicz Buller of Tacoma WA

There are no calling hours. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday April 13th at 10 AM at St. Aloysius of Gonzaga (St Louie’s) 48 West Hollis Street, Nashua NH. No flowers please. Donations can be made in Doris’s name to the Nashua Soup Kitchen or Corpus Christi Food Pantry, Nashua NH or the Huntington at Nashua Scholarship fund, Nashua NH.
