Melody Damon-Bachand

Melody Damon-Bachand, 61, a life-long resident of Merrimack, NH, died Wednesday, March 15, 2017. She was born in Nashua, NH, on Dec. 7, 1955, a daughter of Dr. Dwight F. Damon and the late Lois (Sloan) Damon of Merrimack. She was married to her husband Steve Bachand for 43 years.

Melody was the Executive Director of the National Guild of Hypnotists, Inc. She started in the NGH in the early 90’s and worked her way up to Executive Director of the organization, which has 16,000+ members in over 80 countries. She was Associate Editor of the Journal of Hypnotism and the Hypno-Gram publications and numerous books written by the Guild president for the past 30 years. She had been in charge of internationally attended hypnosis conventions held in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Las Vegas. She was also a volunteer E.M.T for the Merrimack Ambulance Rescue Service from 1990-2000.

Other members of her family include two sons and a daughter in-law, Chris and Julie Bachand and Jereme Bachand, all of Merrimack. She was also pre-deceased by daughter Melissa Dawn Bachand, who died in 1976. She also has eight grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; two brothers; Sloan Damon and Eric Damon, and his wife, Lisa; two sisters, Dawn Huard and her husband, Kevin, and Holly Hewitt; a very close nephew, Adam Damon, and numerous other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her mother, who died in 1992, she is also pre-deceased by her father in-law John Bachand, who died in 2008, her nephew Damon Huard who died in 2016, and her stepmother, Margaret Damon, who died in 2006.

Calling hours will be at the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Hwy, Merrimack, on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, from 4-8 PM. Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 AM and will be conducted by the Rev. Dr. C. Scot Giles of Wheaton, Illinois. Burial will follow in Last Rest Cemetery, Merrimack, NH.
