Arthur W. Scarborough

Arthur “Art” W. Scarborough, 86, of Merrimack passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Greenbriar Healthcare in Nashua after a period of declining health.

He was born on August 4, 1929 in Savannah, GA to the late Ernest and Paula (Christolofi) Scarborough.

Art was a retired veteran from the U.S. Navy, having served from 1947 to 1967. He was employed for Sanders Association, Lockheed, and most recently BAE until he retired in 1990.

Along with his parents, Art was pre-deceased by an infant grandson, Arthur Chadwick Scarborough; two brothers, Capt. William Scarborough, USN Ret, and Ernest Scarborough, Jr., and two sisters, Wynona Poythress and Alfreda Weber.

Surviving members of his family include his loving wife of 61 years, Phyllis (Applegate) Scarborough of Merrimack; two sons, Scott Scarborough of WA, and Shawn Scarborough and his wife Carmelli of Nashua; a granddaughter, Nicole Scarborough of Nashua; god-son, Robert Weber, Jr. and his wife Wendy, and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial calling hours will be held at the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Highway on Saturday, July 15, 2017 from 2 – 4 PM.
