Richard K. Allen

Merrimack, NH- Richard K. Allen, 79, of Merrimack, NH passed away September 10, 2017 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Linda (Wyspianski) Allen.

A resident of Merrimack for the past 40 years, Richard was formerly employed with Digital Equipment Corporation for 30 years before retiring as a program manager in 1992. After his retirement, he worked as a realtor for Prudential Crane in Nashua, NH, and later at Fidelity Investments in Merrimack, NH.

Born in 1938 in Milford, MA, Richard was the son of the late George K. and Helen (Rockwood) Allen of Hopedale, MA. He was a graduate of Hopedale High School, class of 1956, and proudly served in the United States Air Force. He was a graduate of Franklin Technical Institute in Boston, and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in 1984 from Hawthorne College, Antrim, NH.

Richard was a dearly loved husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was a kind, generous, and honest person, with a warm heart and witty sense of humor. His smile would light up a room. He never missed a Red Sox or Patriots game and took great pride in watching his grandson play little league. Spending time with family and friends, gardening, taking care of his home, and vacationing on Cape Cod, were some of the things he enjoyed the most. He was an avid photographer and over the years captured many family moments through his camera lens.

In addition to his wife of 53 years, Linda, he is survived by a daughter, Gina, and her husband Richard Stec, of Westfield, MA; his grandson, Everett Stec; a brother David, and his wife, June Allen of Belton, SC; a niece, Lisa Brendel of Sterling, MA; three nephews, Jeffrey Allen of Mendon, MA, John Allen of Anderson, SC, and Robert Allen of Belton, SC; cousins Mildred Higgins and her husband Charles of Upton, MA, Robert Robson, and his wife Betsy of Yarmouth, ME, and Prudence McCabe of Kalamazoo, MI. He was pre-deceased by his brother, Robert Allen of

Hopedale, MA.

Visiting hours will be held Sat. September 30, 2017 from 9:00 – 10:30 AM in the BUMA-SARGEANT FUNERAL HOME, 42 Congress St., Milford, MA, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 7 East Main St., Milford, MA.

Burial with full Military Honors will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Medway Rd., Rte. 109, Milford, MA.
