Milford’s Pitsas named Athlete of the Month
Dina Pitsas, a senior at Milford High School, was named the NHIAA’s Female Athlete of the Month for April.
Pitsas, who is currently a member of the Spartans girls outdoor track team, “is a wonderful student athlete who is well respected among the entire school community. She led the basketball team to the state semifinals, Milford’s first appearance since 1983. Her leadership throughout the season and outstanding sportsmanship makes her a role model for others. An All-State selection in soccer and basketball, her character is top notch and she will be greatly missed,” athletic director Marc Maurais said.
Pitsas has a 4.28 GPA, scored over 1,000 career points in basketball, was an all-state selection in basketball and soccer, and was a Wendy’s High School Heisman Award winner.

Milford’s Bourassa
named COY
Dana Bourassa was one of three from New Hampshire to receive honors from the National Wrestling Coaches Association for the 2012-13 high school season.
Bourassa, who has been the wrestling coach at Milford High School for 30 years, was named the Coach of the Year for New Hampshire by the NWCA after helping to lead the Spartans to a 15-4 record during the regular season and a third-place finish at the Division II championship meet.
Also receiving awards were Adam Corey of Timberlane of Plaistow (Wrestler of the Year) and Dan Donovan of Timberlane (Assistant Coach of the Year).
As a coach of 36 years, Bourassa has served in various coaching positions at a variety of institutions. He began the wrestling program at Plymouth Regional High School in 1977 and spent time as an assistant at Keene before starting the program at Milford in 1983. Bourassa won back-to-back Class IMS titles in 1999 and 2000 and has coached 37 individual state champions.
The winners at the state level will now be eligible for regional and national awards.
