Milford track teams strong

MILFORD – Athletes from seven schools across southern New Hampshire gathered for a meet at Milford High School.

On the boys’ side, Hollis Brookline earned bragging rights in the with 129 overall points, 13 ahead of second-place Milford,

Two-event winners included Milford senior Victor Garcia, who took the long jump (20-9.5) and triple jump (39-10), and Bishop Guertin junior Jacob Pacheco, who won the pole vault (12-2) and

javelin (160-3).

Campbell High had a pair of individual winners in Tyler St. Onge winning the 400 (55.80) and Josh Hoffman taking the discus with a superb 150-3 toss.

The host team also had two wins with Junior Ughu winning the shot at 45-1.5 and Caleb Korthals scoring in the 1600 (4:35.71).

On the girls’ side, Milford earned overall team victory with 146 points, followed by Bishop Guertin (130.5) and Sanborn (106.5)

Milford senior Lauren Robinson led the way for the hosts, placing first in the 1600 (5:15.44) and 3200 (12:05.00). She also helped the Spartans place second in 4 x 400-meter relay.

Fellow Milford senior Meg Sawyer also earned a win in the 200 (28.23). Spartans Leslie MacGrath cleared 5-0 in the high jump and Olivia Vogel soared 7-6 in the pole vault, each scoring victories.

“It was a pretty good meet, some good competition, the weather is finally getting warm,” said coach Mike Wright. “Lauren had a good day, Meg had a good day and on the boys’ side we had a good day on the field events, that’s definitely where we’re strongest on the boys’ side.”

For Bishop Guertin, Kayleigh Moore scored the victory in the 100 at 13.49 and Kathleen Messer ran to the win in the 300 hurdles (50.20).

Hollis Brookline got a throwing double from Lily Jackson, who scored in the discus (111-1) and javelin (93-3). Cavalier Victoria Rezzarday breezed in the 400 (68.00).

Campbell’s Tori Allen delivered victory in the 100 hurdles at 16.72.
