Dover pulls away from Alvirne-Milford to win on the ice

A 3-3 game after two periods turned in the third for an Admirals team that battled hard all the way to the finish. Anthony Derosa scored twice, and Zach Greer had a goal for Alvirne-Milford, the first of his high school career. Brayden King was strong in the cage with 36 saves.

GOFFSTOWN 7,

NASHUA NORTH-SOUHEGAN 1

The 1-2-1 visiting Saber-Titans outsthot the 5-1 Grizzlies 35-16 but had only a goal by Peter Lennox to show for it.

North-Souhegan looks to get back on the winning track vs.Windham on Wednesday at the Salem Icenter at 5:40 p.m.

Jack Belter scored a pair of goals, while Michael Dodge kicked in a goal and a pair of assists. Ryan Dancoes and Peter Lennox had single goals.

Hunter Stonebraker had 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Susie Wason added 13 points as the Sabers got their first win of the regular season (1-3).

Katie Canavan and Halle VanBallegooyen added nine points apiece for Souhegan, which visits John Stark on Friday. ConVal fell to 2-2.

Halle VanBallegooyen paced the Sabers with eight points.

Plymouth 55,

Milford 33

The Spartans (0-3) trailed 20-1 after the first quarter and never recovered on the road against Plymouth. Leslie MacGrath led the scoring with nine points and Sarah Dobbs added eight. Milford visits Bishop Brady on Thursday.

ConVal 31,

Milford 30

ConVal went 7-9 from the free throw line down the stretch to edge the Spartans. Sarah Dobbs led Milford with 10 points.

The Spartan boys’ team beat Bishop Brady, Goffstown, Prospect Mountain, Kingswood and John Stark. Andrew Bartolomucci scored wins in the 50 free and 100 fly. Noah McCandless had a win in the 100 free and a third in the 50 free. Riley Hansen finished the 100 free in third and the 50 free in sixth, picking up personal best times in both events. McCandless, Hansen, Cam Mitchell and Bartolomucci won the 200 and 400 freestyle relays. The girls’ defeated Bishop Brady and John Stark, but lost to Wilton-Lyndeborough and Goffstown. Kat Raiano placed third in the 200 freestyle.

Matt McCool had a 23-point performance in the home opener loss. The Sabers (1-1) host John Stark on Friday.

It was a rough start for the Warriors (2-1) in the new year as they lose their first game of the season. Jack Schwab had a team-high 13 points, while Kyler Trembly and JJ Leblanc scored seven points each.

Two costly turnovers late in the game gave the Spartans another game in the loss column. Gavin Urda (22 points) and Christian Jones (20 points) combined for 42 points.
