GIRLS LACROSSE

DIVISION I SEMIFINALS

Bishop Guertin 17, Souhegan 8

Dead even with fourth-seeded Souhegan, nearly halfway through the first half of Saturday night’s state semifinal at 4-4, the three-time defending Division I champion Bishop Guertin dominated the final 12 minutes of the first half, with eight of the game’s next nine goals.

Guertin ripped off three quick only to have Souhegan answer right back with tallies from Natalie Heimarck, Maddie Lim and Emma Kennedy (who finished with three goals). Stephanie Reap and Elle Stevenson then traded scores..

QUARTERFINALS

Souhegan 16, Nashua South 8

Souhegan jumped out to a 4-1 lead, led 10-3 at the half, and South never really made it a game. Sabers won the draws 12-8, thanks to Mackenzie Crestinger, who had seven.

That went with her four goals, two ground ball pickups and one forced turnover.

Elle Stevenson had four goals, while Emma Kennedy added three with four assists and a ground ball. Lyla Kimball had a pair of goals but had five draws, four ground balls and a turnover.

Maddie Lim also had a goal and three ground balls.

BASEBALL

DIVISION II PRELIMS

No. 5 Hanover 3, No. 12 Milford 1

The Spartans lost the lead late in the game and fell to Hanover. Damian Philbrick took the loss pitching six innings allowing four hits, three runs and struck out three. Jake Lammi had two hits and Nick Conforti added a hit and an RBI.

DIVISION IV PRELIMS

No. 9 Wilton-Lyndeborough 3,

No. 8 Concord Christian 1

Troy Brennan pitched a complete game two hitter and struck out 16 for the Warriors. Ty Bacci and Sean Brennan had two hits each.

QUARTERFINALS

Wilton-Lyndeborough 5, Derryfield 0

The Warriors, the No. 9 seed, knocked off top-seed Derryfield thanks to a complete game three hitter by Sean Brennan on Saturday. They took on No. 4 Newmarket on Wednesday at Laconia’s Robbie Mills Park in the Division IV semis.

BOYS LACROSSE

DIVISION I PRELIMS

No. 8 Concord 6, No. 9 Souhegan 5

The road comes to an end for the Sabers after a hard fought battle with Concord. Andrew Mullin did everything he could to keep Souhegan in the game by saving 25 shots in net. Colin Duckless scored two goals with Tony Garrant, Cole Manning and Zach Wyborney adding one goal each.

DIVISION II PRELIMS

No. 3 Kingswood 12, No. 12 Milford 3

Last spring was magical for the Spartans as they made the title game, but this spring’s postseason ended early with a tough loss at the hands of their 13-4 hosts. The Spartans wind up at 7-10

TRACK AND FIELD

MEET OF CHAMPIONS

In boys competition Milford’s Caden Zalenski won the shot put event (48-8) and finished second in discus. Wil Jaques won the javelin (166-7) and finished fourth in discus and shot put. The team of Dallen Noorda, Jaren Noorda, Owen Stine and Nolan Dickinson ended their day in fourth in the 4Ö800 for Souhegan.

In the 4Ö100 it was Milford’s Trevor Naun, Zachary Naun, Ryon Constable and Nathan Pettingell finishing in fourth.

GIRLS TENNIS

DIVISION II SEMIS

ALVIRNE 5, SOUHEGAN 4

The top seeded Sabers saw a fine season end at 14-2 after a loss at No. 2 doubles. Souhegan got singles wins from Maddie Daniel (8-0), Caroline Drum (8-1) and Misha Tower (8-3), plus Daniel and Tower at No. 1 doubles 8-1.
