Bedford schools sending 4 teams to DI Global Finals

At the end of May, 25 students from the Bedford area have the opportunity to show what they have accomplished at the Destination Imagination Global Final tournament in Knoxville, Tenn. The teams are: The Mind Blowers, from Peter Woodbury School; Eat Your Greens, from Ross A. Lurgio Middle School; The Sit Down Comedians, from Ross a. Lurgio Middle School; and olDIes, from Bedford High School.

Destination Imagination is an extracurricular, creative problem solving program that challenges kids to think outside the box. Elements of DI include; research, design, technology, architecture, and on the spot thinking. DI is a hands-on system of learning that fosters creativity, courage and curiosity though open ended academic challenges in the fields of STEM, fine arts and service learning. Participants learn patience, flexibility, persistence, ethics, respect and the collaborative problem solving process.

While the experience of going to the tournament will be priceless, it will cost the teams who choose to accept the invitation a considerable amount. Teams are busy organizing fundraisers, and are asking that you consider a financial donation to help them on their way. We are grateful for any contribution that you can make.
